Opening MLB season

The MLB season is long, with 162 games. The media still found ways to hype up opening day and the season. It feels like just yesterday the Yankee’s won the World Series. On MLB.com they were counting days and hours to opening day. This was flat out good promotion.

Now to the game, which involved the greatest rivalry in all of sports: Red Sox vs Yankees. We are talking about a rivalry after all where even opposing coaches and players fight each other. What a good way to start off the season on the right foot.

It started off badly for the home team. The Yankees jumped out to a 5-1 lead helped by a Jorge Posada home run off the right field foul pole. The Red Sox battled back, tying the score 5-5 in the sixth inning. The Yankees put two more on the board in the top of the seventh and the Sox again tied it back up 7-7 in the bottom of the inning. Boston finally went ahead for good in the same inning with two wild pitches in a row that allowed Kevin Youkilis to score. Dustin Pedroia added an insurance run in the eighth to give the Sox a 9-7 win. This was a really exciting game considering there is till 161 left to go.
Some Predictions about this Season:
1. Mets will do better and squeeze into the playoffs
2. Red Sox will definitely fall off and not make the playoffs. They have no heavy power in the middle from Ortiz anymore and the loss of Jason Bay!
3. Yankees and Phillies will be in the World Series if injuries do not derail them. Best starting pitching rotations respectfully in National league and American.
4. Albert Pujols is going to continue is quest to be a legend
5. Tim Lincecum will lead the MLB in strike outs.
